ESC offers a diverse range of industrial hygiene (IH) services from
traditional testing in industrial settings to asbestos, mold, and
indoor air quality (IAQ) in commercial and residential buildings.
ESC also prepares written compliance programs and provides employee
training required by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). All projects
are performed under the direct supervision of ESC’s Certified
Industrial Hygienist (CIH). The professional with this credential
is recognized as having the expertise necessary to produce court-defensible
work.
  Traditional
IH services for industry involve the recognition, evaluation, and
control of potential hazards. These hazards may be chemical, physical,
or biological. They may involve dust or particulates, chemical vapors,
or noise. ESC’s CIH will assess the potential hazard, design
testing to evaluate it, complete the testing, interpret the data,
prepare the report of results, and discuss the findings and potential
controls with the Client. The results will be compared to limits
established by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH). State of the art equipment is used to complete all IH work.
This includes noise dosimeters, programmable sampling pumps, electronic
meters, data loggers, and calibrators. All samples are analyzed
in laboratories accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). Laboratories are selected based on their expertise with
the analyses to be completed. All laboratories are recognized for
their superior work following stringent quality control programs.
ESC works closely with laboratory analysts and directors to insure
the results are accurate and dependable.
ESC prepares written compliance programs and provides employee
training required by the OSHA and EPA. Areas in which these services
are provided include respiratory protection, hazard communication
(right-to-know), hazardous wastes, spill prevention and contingencies,
and emergency response. ESC can provide these services as turnkey
projects or individual components with the Client completing the
other components.
